Charlene Ann Brown, age 72, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Woodland Hospice House near Mt. Pleasant.  Charlene was born in Mt. Pleasant on May 22, 1944, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Pease) Freeze.

     Charlene was a member of the Community of Christ.  She was employed for many years as a store room clerk and a nurses aide at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.  She enjoyed crocheting, drawing, oil painting, writing stories and her work.

   Charlene is survived by her niece, Darla Hunter, and her daughter, Heather and Kevin Helmboldt and their children, Mckenzie and Ashley, and niece, Angela Hunter and her children, Diamond, Daniel and Derek; cousins, Marlene Koons, Nancy Carassillo, Anna Allison, Gerald L. Armstrong, and Ray and Jan Freeze.  She was preceded in death by both parents.

     Funeral services for Charlene were held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the Rowley Funeral Home with Rev. Connie Bongard and Shirley Wiltse officiating.  Friends and family gathered at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 noon to the service time at 1 p.m. Interment followed the service in Riverside Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.  Friends wishing to remember Charlene with a memorial, are asked to consider the needs of the family.
